LiveMap, A Motorcyclist’s Dream: Google Glass in Helmet Form
Check out Google Glass in Helmet form. LiveMap is a company developing an innovative motorbike helmet with a built-in navigation system. The helmet features augmented reality elements and is fully controlled by voice commands. It runs Android, of course! It will outperform Google Glass in every aspect.
The product features a full-color, translucent, collimated image that is projected right on the helmet visor a-la aviation helmet. Other specs include GPS, maghetic compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G, 4G, two high-capacity batteries, headphones, microphones, light sensor and a high-resolution camera. The helmet will comprise mapping info from Navteq and voice recognition technology from Nuance – all in a shell just slightly bigger than usual.
At the moment the LiveMap startup presented prototypes of the optical system, main board and software and is passing through the commercializing phase. The LiveMap company started a project at Indiegogo to crowd finance the industrial production and to accept pre-orders.
